A high volume of match play is perhaps the most critical aspect of a players development. Every player needs a large number of matches to reach their potential.
For example:
- Primary school students should be playing the equivalent to 50 plus best of 3 set matches per year.
- High School Students should be playing the equivalent to 70 plus best of 3 set matches per year.
Tennis Nation provides a variety of match play events for both juniors and adults including UTR and CBR rating events.
UTR (universal tennis rating)
Is the worlds most accurate tennis rating. All players regardless of age, gender, geography, or skill level, are rated on the same scale from 1.00 to 16.50 based on match results. UTR is specifically for Yellow Ball.
CBR (colour ball rating)
Is a rating for 12 and under players who play red, orange and green ball matches and tournaments.
